Who We Are

Welcome to YWAM Sacramento!  We are a small group of passionate people who live in the city of the Sacrament, and are pouring our hearts into the amazing people God has brought to this area.  Our ministry is still in the pioneering stage, and we one day hope to see our impact into our city explode!  Our vision is to reach, disciple, train and send out the next generation of missionaries to touch souls in Sacramento, and beyond!  We hope to accomplish this through training programs, language schools, and outreaches as we partner with believers in reaching Sacramento and the world.

Youth With A Mission is an international volunteer movement of Christians from many backgrounds, cultures and Christian traditions, dedicated to serving Jesus throughout the world. Also known as YWAM (pronounced “WHY-wham”), our purpose is simply to know God and to make Him known.

When YWAM began in 1960, our main focus was giving young people opportunities to demonstrate the love of Jesus to the whole world, according to His command in Mark 16:15. Today, we still focus on youth, but we have members (known as “YWAMers”) of almost every age and many of our short-term efforts have grown into long-term endeavors that have impacted lives and nations.  We are currently operating in more than 1000 locations in over 180 countries, with a staff of over 18,000.

According to a study release by TIME magazine, Sacramento is the most culturally diverse city in all of the United States.  There are more people from other countries living here than in any other city.  This provides us with an amazingly unique ministry opportunity, and we have chosen to embrace the many peoples of our city.  Many of our ministry opportunities include focuses on both the Hispanic and the Pacific Islander communities. Come join us today
and learn to reach the lost in a whole new culture!
